The Grand Rapids Democratic Socialists of America welcomes you to our organization. We are the local chapter of a national activist group. Here are a few ways you can get involved with the GRDSA.
Attend A Chapter Meeting
The GRDSA holds a regular chapter meeting each month. We meet at the Eastown Community Association at 7:00 P.M on the first Saturday each month. This is our biggest meeting of the month. Here we introduce ourselves to our chapter, conduct business, and hear report backs from officers and working groups.
Become A Dues-Paying Member
You do not need to be a dues-paying member to organize with the GRDSA. Becoming a member will give you voting power at our regular chapter meeting. It is also a prerequisite for joining the GRDSA’s steering committee. There are a few different payment options available. You can pay as little as $5 a year for a membership. You can also pay monthly dues. The GRDSA receives 20% of monthly dues that members in our jurisdiction provide. Those funds are disbursed quarterly. There is also a non-means tested application for those who cannot pay to join.
Attend A Working Group Meeting
Interested in a specific topic? We have four working groups who meet regularly. Political Action, Ecosocialism, Mutual Aid, and Outreach. For more information on working group meetings head over to the working group page.
